The unique water source in Telemark will produce premium trout The groundwater comes from Rjukan’s rivers and high-altitude mountain lakes. The water is naturally filtered through thick moraine masses, which is optimal in terms of achieving the best fish taste.

Hima Seafood has identified and secured a licence to obtain water from a huge groundwater reservoir in Vestfjorddalen, just below where the facility will be built in the first quarter of 2021. There is a stable and abundant volume of water. There is no agriculture near the facility in Rjukan or other activities in the soil that affect the high quality water source. Waterfalls and cold mountain water at Rjukan also provide effective power for favourable energy consumption at the fish farm.
